The Government of Tamil Nadu with excellent infrastructure,

State under the “Ease of Doing Business” (EODB) Initiative.
The Government of Tamil Nadu, with its excellent infrastructure, connectivity, and
skilled workforce, is globally recognized as a leading investment destination. Through
the "Ease of Doing Business" (EODB) initiative, the state has been dedicatedly improving
its business climate. Currently ranked #3 in the Top Achiever Category nationally, Tamil
Nadu's success in implementing cutting-edge reforms and initiatives highlights its
commitment to fostering an environment conducive to business growth and economic
development.
Tamil Nadu Single Window Portal (TNSWP)
- TNSWP is a one-stop shop for obtaining all business-related licenses/ clearances/ approvals in a time-bound manner.
- 180+ G2B services are currently live.
- 50+ more G2B services planned.
Regulatory Compliance Burden Reduction
& Decriminalization
- 560+ burdensome compliances on business reduced.
- 165 redundant acts repealed.
- 1299 criminal provisions decriminalized
Implementation of Business Reform
Action Plan (BRAP)
- BRAP 2020-21: 301 reforms circulated by DPIIT, GoI for implementation have been successfully implemented under BRAP 2020.
- BRAP 2022: 261 Business-centric reforms and 91 citizen-centric reforms circulated by DPIIT, GoI for implementation have been successfully implemented under BRAP 2022.
- BRAP 2024: 287 reforms circulated by DPIIT, GoI for implementation are under implementation by Guidance in coordination with 30+ line departments

Act & Rules
- TNBFA 2018 specifies timelines, rules, procedures and institutional mechanisms for the application and grant of approvals along with provisions for effective grievance redressal & punitive measures for non-compliance by State agencies/ departments.
- Rules are amended from time to time to reflect dynamic needs of businesses and to reflect broader economic sentiments

- CIS ensures timely and synchronized inspections among various departments i.e. Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Labour Department, Boilers Department, and Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board.
